A lot of the visitors to our holiday cottage visit to experience our amazing Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (KWVR), our local historic steam railway.
Whether you’re a steam train enthusiast, a family looking for an experience that your children will love, or you would like to enjoy a relaxing dining experience on a winding train journey through the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, then KWVR have a number of special events for you that we’ll highlight below.
Sunday 1st August departing from Oxenhope station at 10.15, 11.45, 13.30 and 15.00
Enjoy a traditional cream tea with scones, jam and clotted cream while steaming through the Worth Valley countryside in the elegant trappings of a 1930’s Pullman parlour car.
Departing from Oxenhope Station on a round trip to Keighley, your refreshments are freshly prepared, are served to your table by Pullman liveried staff.

Every weekend from 24th July to 22nd August, various times
Each weekend vintage trains will run pulling a selection of historic coaches, many from the Victorian era (1837 – 1901) and rarely available for public use.
The carriages are part of the railway’s museum collection and include carriages from the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Trust (L&YRT) and the Vintage Carriages Trust (VCT) which are restored to pristine condition.
Saturdays 31st July and 14th & 28th August at 19.00
Departing from Oxenhope at 19.10, you can indulge yourself in a pre booked drinks package as you steam through Bronte country to Keighley station, where your fish and chips will be delivered to you in your seat.
While you enjoy your fish and chips the train will travel back to Oxenhope where you can stretch your legs before a return to Keighley where a band will be waiting so that you can either relax and enjoy the music, or dance the evening away on the platform.
At 10:40 you reboard the train and set off back to Oxenhope.

Saturday 31st July & 14th August (Brunch or Afternoon tea)
Enjoy a mouth watering brunch in a 1930’s Pullman parlour carriage, or afternoon tea if you prefer while you are taken on a steam powered trip through Worth Valley’s beautiful Yorkshire countryside.
With a short break in Keighley and Oxenhope this experience lasts for roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes.
A 3 day event from 10th September to 12th September 2021
This event is exactly as you’d imagine a day of Diesel locomotives, followed by both Diesel and Steam, and then finally Steam locomotives only on the Sunday.

Thursday 14th October – Sunday 17th October 2021
Real ale, artisan gins, plus food and live music.
From Thursday 14th October to Sunday 17th October, the Railway is transformed into a 5 mile beer Festival with bars at Oxenhope (every day), Ingrow (Friday to Sunday only) and Keighley (Friday & Saturday only), plus on-train bars from Friday to Sunday.

October half-term, 25th – 29th October 2021
Dare you come face to face with a T-Rex or a Raptor?
Imagine seeing an 8ft tall animatronic T-Rex battle it out with a Raptor, cooing over cute baby dinosaurs, or if you prefer you can get up close and personal with the live reptiles!

Every weekend from 27th November to 19th December, plus Monday 20th December to Christmas Eve
The Elf Express takes you and your children on a magical adventure where you’ll meet Santa’s Elves who give you a Golden Ticket, your pass to Kringle Town’s Winter Wonderland where you can meet Santa and his friends.
