Haworth - Bronte Country - Yorkshire

Set amidst the Yorkshire Pennines, the picturesque village of Haworth was once home to the Bronte family. Their home, Bronte Parsonage, is now a museum.

For the outdoor enthusiast, wonderful walks can be found around Haworth, taking in scenery such as Top Withens, which gave inspiration for Emily Bronte's novel, Wuthering Heights.

You can travel on one of the magnificent steam trains running from Oxenhope at the head of the Worth Valley, through Haworth and beyond on the Worth Valley Railway. The stations and villages along the route have set the scene for films and television including 'The Railway Children', "Yanks", "The League of Gentlemen", "Housewife 49" and "Last of the Summer Wine". We have regular visits from Thomas the Tank Engine, special events for steam train enthusiasts and at Christmas time Santa Specials. It's wise to book in advance as all events are well attended. Haworth hosts themed weekends throughout the year, including the hugely popular 1940's weekend, 1960's weekend, Scroggling the Holly and the Torchlight Procession.
